A recent and surprising addition has been made to my family’s farm this past week. My dad found him toddling among the mud puddles and patches of snow, covered in afterbirth. It was an Icelandic ram lamb and he had been born in the outside pen….not in the lambing pen.
One of our ewes gave birth much earlier then we expected. Her expected due date was in May sometime……
But the little boy is healthy and happy. Mama seems content as well. They both look like they are smiling if you look close enough. 🙂
He is so sweet and his tight little brown and grey curls make him even more adorable.
Aww…..with a lamb born and sprouts up, it really feels like spring.
